As soon as I think I'm getting my blog caught up... I get behind again. Oh well such is life. ;)
It has been miserably hot this summer. The apartment complex is supposed to be fixing our air conditioning for the third time this season. The last thing that I want to do when I get home from work is sew in a steamy apartment.
Last night I started on a dress and should have it finished up this evening. It is turning out wonderfully! I can't wait to get the package dropped in the mail to DJ Nave.

My niece spent the weekend with us the 16-18th. We really had a great time! Friday night we made banana Moon Pie inspired cupcakes! They had a graham cracker crust, yellow cake, filled with marshmallow cream topped with a homemade fresh banana butter cream. We downloaded cupcake toppers, pinwheels and cupcake holders from Draw!Pilgrim which was also a fun activity while waiting for cupcakes to bake and cool. :)
On Saturday we had ham and cheese crepes for breakfast. I forgot to photograph and we then had Mr. C take us to the Paint Spot in St. Matthews. We went with the intention of paint new dog dishes but were distracted by cupcakes. So we each chose a cupcake to paint. It was extremely relaxing. Mr. C left and went looking at shoes. When he came back a few hours later we were still painting. It felt like it had only been about 15 minutes!
After we finished painting we browsed two bookstores and then headed to the movie theater. We watched a late showing of, "Despicable Me" in 3D. K and I LOVED it. We both laughed hysterically, until our cheeks and stomachs hurt. Mr. C fell asleep, during the movie..... and snored. However I will say in his defense I think we wore him out. He said he would go again. We then went to iHop for dinner around 12:45 in the morning.
By the time Sunday morning rolled around we were all pretty tired. I think K and I ate our left over iHop for breakfast. We got up and watched Moulin Rouge while making polymer clay cupcake thumbtacks for her new inspiration board that Clark gave her. All around we had a cup cake weekend. I missed my partner in cupcake creations as soon as we took her home.
