Paris: Day 4

Many of the next blog posts will be recapping from my travel journal of my recent trip to Paris, France with my dear friend Monsieur B.

I hope that you enjoy the photographs and stories. If you have any questions about any of the places or our journey please leave a comment. ;) It was a wonderful journey and I feel so blessed to have shared this trip with such a wonderful friend!!!

Tuesday , October 5, 2010 (Recap)

Monsieur B and I took the train to Versailles! Monsieur B was very excited about this expedition because it is one of his favorite places. He would finally get to share Versailles with me. We stood in line FOREVER but quite honestly I did not mind. I just enjoyed talking to the people in line, watching the pigeons, looking at the buildings and the clouds. The cobblestones int he courtyard were pretty hard to walk on. (Monsieur B got a pretty funny video of me walking funny on them while getting the photo of me wearing my rocking dress made by Renee of Candy Stick Lane). I will have to let you know when I get them all uploaded to YouTube!

The day we went to Versailles I was pretty excited because there was a Japanese art exhibit by Takashi Murakami. I couldn't wait to take pictures to share with my niece K.

Day 4 Versailles

There was a complete and total Asian Invasion at Versailles and I was in love until I was being pushed through Versailles like a herded cow. Some of the rooms were so full that you were being pushed and prodded from every direction. At one point I got separated from Monsieur B and could not breathe. He was aggravated because he felt like it was taking away from the historical design and I was just overwhelmed by the crowd. We decided to take a break by visiting the gift shop and then I spied.... Lauderee!!!! I went inside their shop at Versailles and purchased a tiny box of six macarons that were around 20.00-22.00 USD. I decided on trying the green one hoping that it was green tea. It ended up being pistachio. It was delicious but a bit too sweet for someone who has not eaten sugar in ages. I felt like I had poured a bag of sugar in my mouth.

Instead of going back inside where the people were wall to wall we decided to go and enjoy the gardens and look for Marie Antoinette's, "cottage".

Day 4 Versailles

I loved the gardens, I really loved the gardens, walking in the gardens, resting in the gardens, snacking in the maze, getting lost in the gardens, I really just enjoyed being in the gardens. As we continued to walk, and walk, and walk we realized we had no idea exactly where we were walking to. We stopped another tourists and took a picture of their map!!!

It was not in English but we were able to find the cottage!!!!

We took the RER back to the Metro and I realized that I really enjoy riding on the RER trains. It was a relaxing day. The journey back to Paris was filled with the sounds of someone playing an accordion somewhere aboard. On the Metro we saw the same monsieur that we had seen earlier in week with the fabulous green coat this time with a... ummm amazing Armani Exchange belt yes I remember the really nice belt ;)

I found out over my Moules Frite at the Palace Cafe in Montmartre or maybe it was while enjoying my flaming creme brulee that Monsieur B had visited Cafe de deux Moulins without me!!! (The traitor)

As we stood outside the hotel doors we heard the piano player belting out, "Man in the Mirror" with a heavy French accent...
